Delete your BioLog account
BioLog is published by Terrastation SBC. You can delete your account and its data at any time, in any of the three ways below. Deleting is permanent and can't be undone.
In the app
- Open BioLog on your iPhone or Android device and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Under Danger Zone, tap Delete Account.
- Confirm by tapping Delete Account again.
On the web
No app needed — this works if you've uninstalled BioLog or changed devices:
- Sign in at app.biolog.live with your BioLog email address and password. Forgot it? Choose Forgot password? on the sign-in page, or email us as below.
- Open Profile and scroll to Delete account.
- Enter your password, tick the confirmation box, and choose Delete My Account.
By email
If you can't sign in, email support@terrastation.io from the email address on your BioLog account, with the subject “Delete my BioLog account”. Include your @handle if you know it. To protect your account, we may ask you to confirm the request before we delete it, and we'll reply when it's done.
What is deleted
Deleting your account immediately and permanently deletes:
- your account and sign-in identity, including your email address, display name, @handle, profile photo and any passkeys;
- all of your sightings and their photos, public and private;
- your saved places;
- your connections with other BioLoggers.
There is no deactivation period: your account is not kept in case you change your mind. Signing out, or uninstalling the app, does not delete your account.
What is kept, and for how long
- Database backups (account and sighting data) are kept for 7 days on a rolling basis, then age out.
- Photo backups are kept for 30 days under a lock that prevents early deletion, then age out.
- Crash and diagnostic data, which contains no IP addresses, email addresses or names, is kept for up to 90 days.
- Reports made to keep BioLog safe, including a copy of the reported content and the @handles involved, are kept for as long as needed to handle the report, keep the Service safe, and meet legal obligations, even after the accounts involved are deleted.
Our Privacy Policy sets out the details, including how our service providers handle data on our behalf.
